Skates for Surly

Welcome the Skates for Surly Campaign!

After my first season as a roller derby player I'm ready to upgrade my equipment. When I started skating last January, I was able to get out of rental skates by getting a used pair of Reidell R3's off a veteran skater (Holy Helga - thank you for getting me through my first season!). Now, after months of training and two bouts, I know what I'm looking for in a skate.

One reason I've been waiting is to be able to try on skates before purchasing. Also, since good derby skates are a few hundred dollar investment, it's been worth it to wait for sale. This month Bruised Boutique, an actual ROLLER DERBY SHOP in Nashua, NH is having a 30% off skates sale. Just so happens this month is also my 26th birthday and a fine season for giving.
